T.R.I.O Investigations operates under the Private Security and Investigative Services Act, 2005 and the Ontario Regulation 363/07 Code of Conduct. This is the framework that governs every one of our investigators — in the field, in the report, and in every interaction with the public.
A licensee is in breach of the code of conduct if the licensee contravenes or fails to comply with this Regulation. — O. Reg. 363/07, s. 1
Act with honesty and integrity in every engagement.
Respect and use all property and equipment in accordance with licence conditions.
Comply with all federal, provincial and municipal laws.
Treat all persons equally, without discrimination of any kind.
Refrain from profane, abusive, insulting or uncivil language and actions.
Refrain from exercising unnecessary force.
Refrain from behaviour that is prohibited or not authorized by law.
Treat all information received on duty as strictly confidential.
Co-operate with police where required by law.
Four absolute prohibitions binding every individual licensee at all times.
Be unfit for duty through consumption of alcohol or drugs while working.
Conspire with another person, or aid or abet another licensee, in a breach of this code.
Wilfully or negligently make a false statement or complaint against another licensee.
Misrepresent to any person the type, class or conditions of his or her licence.
Clause 2(2)(d) does not apply to an individual licensee who is concealing his or her identity as a private investigator in order to carry out his or her duties — a necessary protection for lawful covert investigation.
Every licensed business entity — and every officer, director, partner and sole proprietor — is bound by the same code in the course of conducting licensed business.
